
Amritsar, 6 July ( Punjab Post Bureau) – A three week short term course for the 14-members delegation comprises of students and teachers lead by Prof. Y. Johnson and Dr. Rani Chaoudary of Columbia University, USA has been inaugurated. This course is being organized at Centre on Studies in Sri Guru Granth Sahib in association with Fulbright Education Foundation.
Prof. A.S. Brar, Vice-Chancellor inaugurated this course. Dr. Gulzar Singh Kang, Director of the Centre welcomed the delegation and apprised them about the activities of the Centre. Dr. Balwant Singh Dhillon, Founder Director presented vote of thanks. On occasion, Prof. T.S. Benipal, Director Research and professors & researchers were present.
Prof. Johnson said that the objective of this course is to study on Sikhism, heritage and culture alongwith Punjabi language. He said that the delegation members would learn Punjabi and subsequently teach Punjabi in US schools. He said that during this period the students would collect the facts related to Sikhism and Punjab state.
Prof. Brar said that Guru Nanak Dev University is committed to spread the teachings of Great Gurus and Punjabi language. He said that more courses would be organized for other countries also. On this occasion, Dr. Dhillon and Dr. Kang also presented their views.
