DAV Public School Pays Homage to Ex-President Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam

Amritsar, July 28 (Punjab Post Bureau) – DAV Public School, Lawrence Road, paid homage to the visionary scientist, the Missile Man of India, an immensely popular and admired Ex-President on his untimely death. The school observed a special assembly under the guidance of Arya Ratan Sh. Punam Suri ji President DAV, CMC, New Delhi, Regional Director Dr.(Mrs.) Neelam Kamra Principal BBK DAV College and the Manager of the school Dr. Rajesh Kumar, Principal DAV College who sent their messages for the students at this huge loss for the nation. Dr. Kalam was the People’s President and a true icon for the youth.A true gem, he was adorned with the highest civilian honour ‘The Bharat Ratan’ in 1997 for his contribution in bthe field of Science and Engineering. His rise from the humble dwellings in Rameswaram to the highest seat of India speaks volumes of his dedication, hard work, perseverance and love for the nation. The teachers and the students of the school organised a special assembly to pay tribute to the departed soul. The students pledged to realize his ‘Vision 2020’ for the country. Architect of the country’s civilian space programme and military missile development, he will always be remembered for his great passion for science and innovation and his contribution in making the country a nuclear power. Mrs. Reman Sharma, Supervisor of Std IX & X addressed the students and advised them to take inspiration from the great soul and salute the indomitable spirit that led him to surpass all obstacles.

Dr. Neera Sharma, Principal of the school, while addressing the students said that it was a great loss for the country. Along with being a great & visionary scientist, he was a great educator. She added that he wanted the youth of the country to come forward and hold the reigns of the country and today our true tribute would be if we pledge to fulfil his dream.
