Amritsar, Aug. 1 (Punjab Post Bureau) – It was a historical day for Pingalwara when one of our Special Angel Dolly who represented India in Power Lifting Event in World Special Olympics Games-2015 at Los Angles USA brought laurels for the country by winning two bronze medals in Power lifting event (squat lifting and bench press). She has also secured 3rd place in Dead Lift event.
Pingalwara Chief Bibi Inderjit Kaur in statement said that Dolly came to Pingalwara on 14.06.2003 as young 10 years old orphan girl from Bal Sewa Ashram Bhiwani. Her father had died and there was no trace of her mother. From birth itself she was a special child and suffering from epilepsy.
Before being selected for the event at the National Level, she had been given intensive training by All India Pingalwara Charitable Society. The co-operation by Department of Physical Education Guru Nanak Dev University under Dr. Sukhdev Singh & Dr. Amandeep Singh has been commendable. They provided us dedicated coaching assistance during the preparatory stage, said Bibi Inderjit Kaur.
This news was received with great joy and enthusiasm by everyone in Pingalwara. Everyone in Pingalwara Manawala campus burst into spontaneous joy and danced together with the beating of drums.
