Amritsar, Aug. 17 (Punjab Post Bureau) – DAV Public school , Lawrence Road paid rich tribute to the martyr Madan Lal Dhingra who on this day in 1909 went to the gallows for the sake of his motherland. He was a great revolutionary and known for his sheer courage, supreme sacrifice and great love for the country. The students presented a special assembly on this occasion. A role play featuring the important events of the life of this illustrious personality was presented by the students. Mr.Gurbinder Singh Bhatti from Punjabi faculty informed the students about his sacrifice and unwavering urge to see the country free. The role play that was prepared under his guidance aroused the feelings of nationalism among the students and the school echoed with the slogans of ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’. The students also sang patriotic songs and recited poems to pay homage to the great revolutionary. Regional Director Amritsar zone Dr. (Mrs.) Neelam Kamra Principal BBK DAV College for Women, Lawrence Road and the Manager of the school Dr. Rajesh Kumar Principal DAV College , Hathi Gate sent their best wishes on this occasion and asked the students to pay homage to the great freedom fighters in true spirit by pledging to work for the progress of the country. Dr. Neera Sharma Principal of the school asked the students to always remember the selfless love and feelings of patriotism that the freedom fighters had for the country and pledge to follow the path of honesty to make this country corruption free and actually a country of the dreams of the freedom fighters.
