BBK DAV College holds Science Fest “ZOOPHORIA”

Amritsar, Oct. 12 (Punjab Post Burea) – The Department of Zoology and Community of BBK DAV College for Women organized a DBT & UGC sponsored Science Fest “Zoophoria”. The fest included competitions on Poster presentation, Anatomical Clay Modelling and Scientific Rangoli. The students from B.Sc.(Medical) presented Clay models based on Human Anatomy, Comparative Anatomy of vertebrates, evolution of Heart & Brain and Human Health. The students from B.Sc (Medical) & Non Medical made Scientific Rangoli on diverse topics.

The students from Community College (Diploma in Clinical Diagnostic Techniques) presented Posters on Human Anatomy, depicting various Organ systems. The students participated in all the events with full zeal. Dr. Gaurav Agnihotri (Associate Professor, Deptt. Of Anatomy, Govt. Medical College, Asr) and Dr. Pooja Ohri (Assistant Professor, Deptt of Zoology, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar were roped in as the judges for these events.

Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Neelam Kamra and the judges appreciated the efforts of the students that turned this fest into a big success. Dr. Monika Bhardwaj, Co-ordinator of DBT Star College and Community College, explained that this fest has been organized to commemorate completion of 30 successful years of DBT, New Delhi and exposition of students enrolled in Diploma in Clinical Diagnostic Techniques (UGC) to the diagrammatic skills involved in Anatomy. Besides the fest, a guest lecture was delivered by Dr. Pooja Ohri on the topic “Integrated Nematode Management” The lecture was attended by the faculty of Department of Zoology  Dr. Monika Bhardwaj, Ms. Isha Babbar, Ms. Ashima Mehra, Ms. Sonal, Ms. Bhawna & Ms. Dilpreet along with the students from B.Sc (Medical) sem l & sem lll.
