
Amritsar, Oct. 21 (Punjab Post Bureau) – DAV Public School, Lawrence Road celebrated the auspicious Durga Ashtami and Dussehra with fervor and enthusiasm. Goddess Durga is considered as the deity of power, courage and strength. The students prepared a special assembly to mark the victory of good over evil and paid obeisance to Lord Rama and Goddess Durga. Holy hymns and Shlokas from the holy epic Ramayana were recited. The students recited Rama Katha glorifying the valour and righteousness of Lord Rama even in trying times like exile, the students mesmerised the audience by presenting a role play highlighting the festivity of Ashtami during which girls are worshipped to mark the auspicious day. The students prayed to Almighty to bless them to take inspiration from the ethical and virtuous life of Lord Rama and enable them to lead a life of goodness and justice.
Regional Director, Amritsar Zone, Dr.(Mrs.) Neelam Kamra, Principal BBK DAV College For Women and the Manager of the school, Dr. Rajesh Kumar, Principal DAV College sent their best wishes for the students and asked them to imbibe the values of honesty, integrity, righteousness and lead a just life. The Principal of the school, Dr. Neera Sharma, also blessed the students on this holy occasion. She said that our ancient scriptures are a store house of true knowledge. They show us the right path to lead a life of compassion and fulfilment. Thus, we should always keep them in our mind & try to imbibe their teachings in the true sense.
