Majithia pays tributes to Kargil Martyr Jaskaran Singh Mararri Kalan

Says memories and bravery of martyrs should be shared with young generations

Amritsar, Dec. 19 (Punjab Post Bureau)- Punjab Revenue Minister Mr. Bikram Singh Majithia today paid homage to Martyr Jaskaran Singh of Mararri Kalan , who laid down his life in Kargil war.

Laying wreath at the memorial of Constable Jaskaran Singh of Jammu and Kashmir Rifles on his 16th death anniversary, Mr. Majithia said that we should share the memories and bravery of our martyrs to make young generations inspired from their great sacrifices. He said that the role played by our great martyrs in liberation struggle could not be overlooked and we all should tread the path shown by them.  Mr. Majithia said that Punjabis has made more than 80 percent sacrifices during independence struggle and they have also played a pivotal role to ensure safety and security of country’s frontiers. Mr. Majithia also honoured Mr. Bachan Singh father of Martyr Jaskaran Singh.

Meanwhile presiding over a function being hosted to mark 16th death anniversary of Martyr, Mr. Majithia also distributed grants worth Rs. 35 lakh to Mararri village for development purposes. Prominent amongst those present on the occasion included Major Shivi, Talbir Singh Gill, Jodh Singh Samra, Prof. Sarchand Singh, Media Secretary to Minister, Prabhdyal Singh Panwan, Bawa Singh Sarpanch of Mararri village, Satbir Singh Lalli etc.
