NSS Volunteers visited Mother Teresa orphanage

Amritsar, Dec. 28 (Punjab Post Bureau) – NSS Volunteers of BBK DAV College visited ‘Mother Teresa Home’ Gumtala on 6^th day of NSS camp organized in the college.During the visit the volunteers interacted with girls at orphanage and distributed blankets, chocolates, copies, clothes and diapers to the little angels. Nehal, NSS volunteer spoke on ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhaoo’. NSS program officer Mrs. Surbhi Sethi made students aware about the need of higher education in life and how through education young generation can contribute towards nation building. While during fourth day of the camp, workshop on health and personal hygiene and tree plantation was carried in ‘Govt High School’ Manawala. Ms. Veerawali of computer department explained the concept of e-paper and e-shopping to the students.Faculty of science department informed students about health and personal hygiene and demonstrated the steps to clean their hands. Ms. Priyanka Chug from commerce department trained students on how to make candles, dustbin from waste material. Besides this tree plantation was also carried by the unit.Principal (Dr.) Mrs. Neelam Kamra appreciated the efforts of the unit and motivated them to perform better.
