
Amritsar, Jan 30 (Punjab Post Bureau)- Under the aegis of DAV CAE, New Delhi, a capacity building program for the teachers of III-VII grades and XI & XII grades of DAV public schools (Amritsar Zone) was organized at DAV International School, Amritsar on 30-01-2016. The orientation cum interactive meet was held for six subjects i.e. Accountancy, Business Studies, Chemistry, Mathematics, Social Science and Information practices with the aim to bring a qualitative improvement in the teaching- learning process and the objective of enhancing learner’s achievement.
As many as 47 teachers from GND DAV Public School, Bhikhiwind; MKD DAV Public School, Attari; DAV Public School LawrenceRoad, Amritsar, Police DAV Public School and DAV International School participated in the workshop.
Principal Anjana Gupta welcomed the dignitaries and said that she was happy to see the curious participants as teachers must always grow and upgrade themselves to deal with changing trends in education.
Mrs. Meenu Dogra Accounts), Mr. Pawan Kumar (Chemistry), Mr. Rishi Khullar (Information Practices), Mrs. Aparna Nayyar (Mathematics), Mrs. Taripta (Business Studies ), Mrs. Sucheta Kathuria (XI- XII) and Mrs. Meenal Shingari (III-VII) (both Social Science) were the resource persons. During the workshop the detailed syllabus of the subjects was discussed. The resource persons emphasized on the importance of adopting different techniques for motivating & helping students to comprehend their content and reproduce it in a creative way in the exams to get good marks.
The workshop was a grand success as many new ideas and innovative methods to enhance teaching and learning process were developed. Principal Anjana Gupta motivated the participating teachers and applauded the efforts of the resource persons. She added that such kinds of workshops are highly required in keeping the teachers abreast with the latest trends in education. In the end she thanked the resource persons and the participants for being the part of the workshop.
