
Amritsar, August 8 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Sri Guru Harkrishan Senior Secondary School, Gopalpura celebrated Monsoon Festival Teej with great fervor and enthusiasm. The objective was to promote rich cultural heritage among students. On this occasion, the school was decorated with flowers and ribbons.
This function was organized by Principal Paramjit Kaur with guidelines of Sawinder Singh former MLA and member incharge. Principal Paramjit Kaur said that Teej is an important festival for the women of Punjab. The sawan month is eagerly awaited by the people of Punjab as different festivals fall at this time period. She apprised students for making it memorable moment as well as importance of rain for crops and nature was also told to the students .He also urged the students to give special care to the cleanliness of our surrounding during monsoon.
A large number of students, teachers, staff and founder Principal Ms. Pritam Kaur Khalsa were present. Apart from Gidha, Dance presentation by students and staff of the school, the celebrations also included ride on swings followed by tradition food of Teej, puris and kheer served to all students.
