DAV Public School celebrated Parkash Utsav of Sri Guru Granth Sahib

Amritsar, Sept. 1 (Punjab Post Bureau) – The students of  DAV Public School   Lawrence Road celebrated  the Parkash Utsav of Sri Guru Granth Sahib with religious fervour and reverence. The students sang holy Shabads and recited holy verses from  the Guru Granth Sahib inspiring and enlightening all by their mesmerising voice. The students informed the audience about the historic journey of the first ‘Parkash’ of Sri Guru Granth Sahib , that began in 1604 from Gurudwara Ramsar Sahib to Harmandar Sahib ( The Golden Temple). The students talked about the universal appeal of Sri Guru Granth Sahib that binds all religions. It is a spiritual guide not only for Sikhs but  for all humanity. In the end the students took the oath to live  a productive and selfless life and serve humanity as guided by the Gurus in the holy scripture. Regional Director Punjab Zone – A, Dr.(Mrs.) Neelam Kamra and the Manager of the school Dr. Rajesh Kumar, Principal DAV College  Amritsar congratulated the students on this pious occasion. They said that the message of the great Gurus needed to be spread all over the world for universal peace and harmony. While congratulating all on this occasion, the Principal of the school, Dr. Neera Sharma talked about the social relevance  of  Sri  Guru Granth Sahib. She added that it is a unique literary expression with food for the soul and continues to communicate with mortal beings even centuries after it was written. Once again, she gave her best wishes to everyone in the end .
