Amritsar, September 15 (Punjab Post Bureau)- Department of Hindi & Swami Dayanand Study Centre of BBK DAV College for Women celebrated Hindi Diwas by organising a Guest Lecture on ‘Professional and Literary Importance of Hindi Language’. Prof. (Dr.) Baijnath Prasad, Department of Hindi, Punjab University, Chandigarh was the resource person. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Prasad emphasized the relevance of studying Hindi literature as it helps in developing our personality positively. He added that Hindi is one of the languages which can help us to crack all the competitive exams. Appreciating the efforts of the Department of Hindi, Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia said that Hindi has got a rich literary heritage and we should respect our national language. Recognizing the significance of Hindi in Arya Samaj, she added that Hindi was the only language which Swami Dayanand had embraced throughout his life; that’s why, he wrote his book Satyarth Prakash in Hindi. Dr. Anita Narendra, Head, Department of Hindi, along with other faculty members, were present on the occasion.
