Amritsar, Nov 29 (Punjab Post Bureau)- Khalsa University Amritsar (KUA) will tie up with the Nottingham Trent University (NTU), UK, for the faculty, students exchange programs. If all went well the two universities will pen down an MoU for the dual degree courses in Agriculture and Natural Sciences.
This was disclosed by the KU Vice Chancellor Dr. SS Chahal who met NTU vice chancellor Prof.Edward Peck and Global program Director Prof.Stephen William in his office. The two VCs explored the possibilities for the exchange programs and showed commitement to sign the MoU in this regard in the coming months. “We agreed to start with the students and faculty exchange programs. NTU is ready for such delegation in the near future and even we are prepared to receive such delegation from UK’’, said Dr. Chahal adding that discussions covered the areas of expertise and interests where the dual degree programs can be initiated between the two varsities.
KU Registrar Dr. Jaswinder Singh Dhillon said it was highly fruitful meeting as Prof. Peck took the tour to the varsity campus and even went to the libraries and laboratories of the constituent colleges of the university. “The two areas including the Sciences and Agriculture are the arena of future collaboration between the two varsities’’, said Dr. Dhillon. Prof. Peck said that the sharing of the infrastructure and human resources was also on the card in the near future. “I discussed the details of collaborations possible in select subjects and we will be sending the draft on reaching UK and then the MoU wil be signed in this regard’’, said he.
