
Amritsar, Dec 2 (Punjab Post Bureau) – The much awaited PHDCCI’s annual mega trade expo- PITEX will witness a massive participation of SAARC Nations including Afganistan, Nepal, Bhutan and Bangladesh during the five day long PITEX 2016 being organized in association with Govt. of Punjab at Ranjit Avenue in Amritsar from December 8-12, 2016. This would be 11th edition of PITEX in a row being organized in Amritsar. Punjab International Trade Expo (PITEX) in its previous edition has successfully able to generate business over 400 crores of rupees with the participation from SAARC nations and domestic traders. The astonishing feature of the event will be Reserve Buyers Sellers Meet (RBSM) involving chambers representing SAARC nations which is being supported Ministry of Commerce, Govt of India. This will help to grow ‘Made In India’ products.
“This year we have confirmed with over 450 exhibitors from India and abroad who will showcase their products in this five daylong event. PITEX is one of the major trade event in Northern India.” informs Parveen Rathi, Regional Director, PHDCCI, Chandigarh.“It is an ideal platform for the Indian manufacturers and traders to showcase goods at the international level. We have provided the world-class infrastructure at the expo and like previous editions this time too we are expecting business enquiries would cross the previous benchmarks,” RS Sachdeva, Co- Chairman, Punjab Committee, PHDCCI.
The PITEX will be inaugurated by Minister for Industries and Commerce, Govt of Punjab – Madan Mohan Mittal on December 9 in the presence of top executives of PHDCCI. The foreign buyers who have confirmed their participation are from important sectors like textiles, fabrics, gems and jewellery, services sectors and others. “RBSM (Reserve Buyers –Sellers Meet) would be a three-day meet to network with the foreign buyers and manufacturers and serve ideal platform for the representatives of industry hailing from cycle, automobile, agri implements and machinery, clothes, home décor, health and wellness and other sectors” said Dr. Rathee.
PHD Chamber would also host a roundtable conference of the delegates from the SAARC nations. About 150 select buyers will be in Amritsar from SAARC nations would be engaged in one-to-one business meetings with Indian manufacturers and expected to sign many MoUs. Punjab-based companies will also showcase their products to foreign buyers.Nearly 450 exhibitors are participating in the trade expo, who are categorized into 11 pavilions namely agriculture, food and farm, travel, tour, auto and handicrafts, etc.
