Amritsar, Jan. 2 (Punjab Post Bureau)- Neha Basotra a student pursuing PhD under guidance of Prof BS Chadha (Head) Department of Microbiology won the best poster award “Cloning and expression of catalytically efficient xylanases (GH10 and GH11) from thermophilic fungus Malbranchea cinnamomea in Pichia pastoris” in Molecular Biology and Biotechnolgy theme and Mr Manish Mahajan PhD student of Dr R.K Manhas won best poster award for Antifungal activity of Streptomyces M4 against fungal phytopathogens in medical biotechnology theme at International conference on current trends in Biotechnology held at Vellore 8-10 Dec. In addition Neha Basotra also won award for research paper “Mycothermus thermophilus a rich source of lignocellulolytic glycosyl hydrolases and auxiliary enzymes” at Bioprocessing India 2016 conference held at CIAB, Mohali 15-17 Dec 2016.
