Lecture on “News production in News channels “organized at DAV College

Amritsar, February 3 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Department of Mass Communication and Video Production  DAV College organized a Guest lecture on “News production in News channels” on 25 February, 2017 at seminar hall. This lecture was organized under the guidance of Principal, Dr. Rajesh Kumar and Head of Department Prof Arif Nazir. The event hosted series of two sessions.

Amit Malhotra News Anchor ETV News, Chandigarh/ Haryana was the resource person on the occasion. In last few years, he has worked with Day and Night News channel and Babushahi.com.

Prof. Arif Nazir Head Department of Mass Communication and Video Production gave a floral welcome to the guest and motivated students to participate in such intellectual lectures to imbibe excellent communication skills and to utilize them in future aspects to become successful in life.

Principal Dr. Rajesh Kumar congratulated Prof. Arif Nazir Head department of Mass Communication and Video Production and other staff members of the department for organizing such scholarly lectures for intellectual growth of students. He also added that such lectures help in clearing concepts and getting deeper knowledge about the subject.

While speaking on the occasion Amit Malhotra focused on current news scenario and its changing trends. He also explained about important aspects of newsroom and packaging techniques used to handle news production and even focused on importance of narration in news coverage. He also talked about how bulletins are prepared in News Channels starting from Assignments, AV to VO and to final editing by the Editor. He also motivated students to observe hard striven efforts of well-known Journalists and to read books of eminent Novelists, so that they can inculcate their skills and positive attitude in their lives.

During the second session of the event, He interacted with the students of BA (JMC) and BA (MCVP) and also screened his prime news Bulletin to the audience. The event concluded with vote of thanks by Prof Arif Nazir. Speaking on the occasion, he thanked Amit Malhotra for sharing practical knowledge with the students. Besides, he also thanked students and emphasized them to work hard and develop skills in order to survive in this competitive world. Prof. Sania Arora, Prof. Vani Sharma, Prof. Soundarya Kochar, Prof. Roohi Sharma, Prof. Ferry Bhatia, Prof.  Sehajpal Singh and Amit were also present in the Lecture.
