61st Annual Award Presentation Function Held at DAV College

510 Students Awarded Prizes for Academic Excellence & Co-curricular Activities

Amritsar, April 1 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Around 510 Students were awarded prizes and certificates of merits for their excellent academic and other curriculum performances at DAV College on April 1, 2017 on the occasion of 61^st Annual Award Presentation Function. The students were also awarded prizes for their good performance in sports, CCA, NCC, NSS and social activities. Six Students of CCA were awarded College Color award for their spectacular performance during the session.

Sh. B.K Mittal, Secretary, DAV College Managing Committee, New Delhi was the chief guest on the occasion. He is a renowned industrialist and a committed educationist. He is associated with DAV since 1978 and has made use of his varied experience in leading DAV Institutions forward. Besides this, Advocate Sudershan Kapoor, Chairman, Local Managing Committee and Dr. V.K Lakhan Pal, Member, Local Managing Committee was also present during the occasion. Bakshi Ram Arora, Mayor Amritsar also graced the event with his amiable presence.

Principal Dr Rajesh Kumar, Vice Principal Dr Vishav Bandhu, College Registrar Prof Aashima Walia, College Administrator Dr. Daizy Sharma, Staff Secretary Dr. B.B Yadav accorded a warm welcome to all the guests. The event began with lighting of Deepshikha and Chanting of DAV Anthem. Speaking on the occasion Principal, Dr. Rajesh Kumar welcomed Sh. B.K Mittal and other dignitaries for their flamboyant presence on the occasion. Besides it, he also congratulated all the prize winners for bringing in laurels to the institution and for adding feather to Kitty of their achievements.

Addressing the gathering, Sh. B.K Mittal encouraged the students to work hard towards achieving their goals. He said that DAV institutions are known for quality education as well as for academic excellence.  He bestowed his benevolence on all the prize winners and motivated them to lead a virtuous life.  Dr. Vishav Bandhu, Vice Principal, Prof. Ashima Walia College Registrar,  Dr. Daizy Sharma Administrator, Dr. B.B Yadav Bursar were among the core committee members for organizing this grand event. The principals of various colleges and schools under DAV CMC also graced the occasion with their presence.
