DF launched Midweek supplies to enhance farmer engagement

Amritsar, May 10 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Dilbir Foundation (DF) launched its midweek supply of farm fresh organic vegetables today. Social media assist is employed in spreading the word regarding available supplies at select farms during the course of the week. Last weekend a massive 1000 farmer turnout at TarnTaran under the CII Innovative farmers Meet engagement where President DF Gunbir Singh gave a call to farmers to roll up their sleeves for action. He said that on these lands in the 1960’s were sown the seeds of the Green Revolution. Farmers of Punjab must lead again and start another Organic Green Revolution and ensure revival of farm economy on one hand and health of their families and those of the consumers on the other. He stressed that time is ripe for change, and natural farming accompanied by adoption of integrated farm approach, multi cropping, new ways and techniques will usher in a revival of direct market access as well as export possibilities.

 In keeping with suggestions received from the farmers DF launched today as midweek program, called TheEarthStore, where those citizens who have missed the opportunity to visit the OrganicSundays FarmFest from 5pm to 9pm at Shahzada Nand College, now can order home delivery by contacting the centralised booking number 9815045055. This will ensure that the farmers produce will be provided market access twice a week now. DF lately also started its evening avatar of Organic Sundays, in consideration of the afternoon hot sun. From the coming Sunday mist fans shall also be deployed to keep citizens cool and the vegetables fresh.

 Farmers from Amritsar, Tarn Taran, Hoshiarpur, Kapurthala, Gurdaspur, Pathankot districts, and as far as Landran near Chandigarh.Thanking the media for its continued support of the farm Fest, President DF said, “Our NGO effort has been wholeheartedly supported by the press, social media and the citizens at large. The Organic Sunday’s initiative Has now found traction, and farmers are bringing their produce from far & near. Midweek supplies shall assist the Farm community to supply produce without having to leave their farms. DF will continue to devise ways of assisting the citizens and grower community in its No More Poison in My Food initiative.”
