celebrated National Sports Day as a tribute to the legendary hockey player Major Dhyan Chand, who made India proud by his extraordinary sporting skills. On the occasion, a motivational programme highlighting the significance of the day was organized in the college.
Appreciating the efforts of the department, Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia said that Major Dhyan Chand was an international legendary figure who epitomized the Era of Hockey in India. During his period of playing Hockey, India beat all the best teams of the world. She further added that the college is committed to the promotion of the sports and for the purpose, modern sports facilities as well as the world class training are being provided to the players.
Mrs. Sweety Bala, Head, Department of Physical Education said that National Sports Day is dedicated to the brilliant Hockey player Dhyan Chand. His life and contribution to sports is an inspiration for the young players of the country. As a part of the celebration, cake cutting ceremony was performed. Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia, Mrs. Mandeep Sokhi, Staff Secretary and Mrs. Sweety Bala, Head, Department of Physical Education, gave a tribute to the hockey wizard with hockey sticks.
