Amritsar District Overall Champion in Rope Skipping

Amritsar, Sept. 21 (Punjab Post Bureau) – 9th State Rope Skipping Championship – 2017 was held at DAV Public School Lawrence Road from Sept 16-17. 200 Students from different districts participated in this State level Championship. Amritsar District was declared the overall Champion among boys. The Championship was inaugurated by a honourable Sh.Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh, IGP Special Task Force (Intelligence) Pb, Chandigarh. Sh. Deepak Shoor  graced the occasion as guest of honour . Mrs. Madhumita Singh W/o Sh.Kunwar Vijay Pratap was also present. Mr. Balwinder Singh, Chairman RS Association , Amritsar, Sh. Sanjay Mahajan , Sh. Ish Devgan , Sh.G.L. Sharma , Mrs. Varsha Bawa , Sh.Sunil Arora were the other eminent guests present. All the participants from different districts of  the state performed exceptionally well in  their category and gave tough fight to  the opponents. The overall result for boys & girls is as follows : Among boys- Amritsar District was  declared overall champion, Gurdaspur district won second position  and Faridkot district bagged third position. Among girls- Gurdaspur district was declared champion  Amritsar district bagged second position and Faridkot district bagged third position.

Regional Director Punjab Zone – A Dr itsar blessed the winners for their brilliant performance.

Dr.Neera Sharma, Principal of the school congratulated the participants and asked  them to practice and give their best at all  times .She praised the teachers and other members for their efforts in promoting the game. She added that it is very important to maintain a balance between academics , curricular & Co –curricular activities for  the overall development of students.

Mr. Varinder Bawa Jt. Secretary RS Federation, India thanked the Principal for all her support to encourage the game and the students. He also added that is was a matter of joy to see students participating  and excelling in the game of their choice.
