Final Inter-Zonal Youth Festival inaugurated at GNDU

Amritsar, Oct. 31 (Punjab Post Bureau) – The Zonal Youth Festival of Final Inter-Zonal was inaugurated here today PPN3110201709in the Dasmesh Auditorium of Guru Nanak Dev University. These competitions are being organized simultaneously on different stages in the University Campus i.e. Dasmesh Auditorium, Guru Nanak Bhawan, Sangat Hall, College Bhawan Auditroium, Maharaja Ranjit Singh Bhawan Auditorium and Conference Hall.

  1. Amanjit Singh, Director, 2B Inovations, Dubai; Founder, Social and Environmental Welfare Association and Founder, Sarbat da Bhala, Dubai formally inaugurated this festival by lighting the lamp. Dr. Amandeep Kaur, Director, Amandeep Hospital, Amritsar was guest of honor and S. Amandeep Singh Sidhu, Founder Young Bhangra Club, Calgary was special guest.
  2. Amanjit Singh said that we should be proud of our rich cultural heritage and should not forget it. He said these festivals associate youth with our culture. He said that vulgarity in any form should be avoided so that true message of punjabiat should reach the whole world.

               Dr. Jagjit Kaur, Director, Youth Welfare welcomed the chief guest and others. She gave detail of the achievements of Youth Welfare Department. She said that six zonal festivals have been conducted recently with the able guidance of Vice Chancellor and Registrar.

               The festival started with the competition of Bhangra. Winner student-artists from six zones are participating in 34 items of Music, Theatre, Dance, Literary & Fine Arts. This festival would be concluding on November 03.

            Today, the festival was started with the competition of Bhangra. The items of Group Song (Indian), Group Shabad/Bhajan, Vaar Singing, Kavishri, Painting, Cartooning Poster Making, Photography, Collage, Clay Modelling and Installation were organized.

On November 01, items of Mimicry, Costume Exhibition, Mime, Skit, One Act Play, Geet/Gazal, Folk Song, Classical Instrumental (Perscussion), Rangoli, Phulkari, Poetical Symposium and Elocution and on November 02, One Act Play, General Dance, Folk Orchestra, Western Group Song, Classical Instrumental (Non-Perscussion), Classical Vocal, Quiz and Debate would be held. On final day i.e. November 03, the items of Classical Dance, Gidha, Western Vocal Solo would be organized followed by prize distribution function.
