Amritsar, Nov. 1 (Punjab Post Bureau) – DAV Public School Lawrence Road observed Punjab Day with full zeal and fervour. To commemorate the history and struggle of Punjab and its heroes, the students of the school staged a special programme that echoed with Punjabi folk songs and songs narrating the valour of Punjab. The students informed about the history of Punjab. Punjab in its present form came into existence on November 1, 1966. Through well rectied poems, they remembered the great warriors and freedom fighters from Maharaja Ranjit Singh to Bhagat Singh with reverence. The students decked up in colourful attires, created a festive ambience that highlighted the zeal and energy of Punjab. On this occasion, Gurbinder Singh Bhatti, from the Punjabi faculty informed the students about the tragic partition of the state in which many innocent people lost their lives. He advised students to remember the past and march ahead for the progress of this prosperous state.
Regional Director Punjab Zone – A Dr. (Mrs.) Neelam Kamra and the Manager of the school , Dr. Rajesh Kumar Principal DAV College Amritsar Principal sent their best wishes to the students on this occasion. They said that Punjabi Literature has so much to offer, guide and inspire the youth of today. Dr. Neera Sharma Principal of the school applauded the students for the fabulous show. She advised the students to tread on the right path and utilise their ingenuity to make the state a developed state in all facets.
