Amritsar, July 29 (Punjab Post Bureau)- Navjot Kaur and Karmajit Kaur of BBK DAV College for Women, Amritsar have won Gold Medal in Senior State Power Lifting Championship, held at Patiala, from July 27, 2014. Navjot Kaur won gold medal in 52 Kg weight category (total weight record 220 kg i.e. squat 90 kg, Bench Press 375 kg, Deadlift 107.5 kg) Karmajit Kaur won Gold in +84 kg weight category (total weight record 242.5 kg i.e. Squat 92.5 Kg, Bench Press 42.5 kg Deadlift 107.5) Also both have been selected for National Power Lifting Championship to be held at Goa from September 15, to September 22, 2014.
Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Neelam Kamra congratulated the winners for bringing awards to the college and appreciated the efforts of the staff, Ms. Sweety Bala, Head Sports Department; Ms. Savita Kuamri, Ms. Rupinder, & Ms. Rajwant Kaur appreciated the achievements of winners and motivated them to perform the best in the upcoming competition.
