Two Smugglers arrested, Opium recovered

Amritsar, Feb. 26  (Punjab Post Bureau) – Narcotics Control Bureau Sub Zonal Unit has been receiving the information since a long that a person named Sukhdeep Singh @ Bhatti of Village Harse Chhina Ajnala (Amritsar) is involved in trafficking of OPIUM. This Sukhdeep Singh @ Bhatti running a Dhabha in Gaya district of Bihar from where he brings Opium and sell here in Amritsar to the addicts. In the early morning of 25.02.2018, NCB team under the Supervision of Sachin Gularya Superintendent and NCB Amritsar intercepted Sukhdeep Singh @ Bhatti, when he reached Amritsar Railway Station from Gaya, Bihar in Train No 12379, Jalliawala Bagh Express early in the morning. On search of the accused 00.830 Kg OPIUM was found from the possession of Sukhdeep Singh @ Bhatti. A Crime case under different section of NDPS Act has been registered against Sukhdeep Singh.. Further investigation to find out source of origin and final destination of the contraband is in progress.

Apart from above another smuggler namely Karanbir Singh of village Pritam Singh Wala  Ferozepur also arrested by NCB Amritsar in connection with a recovery of 01.980 Kg Heroin at Indo-Pak Border on 31.12.2017 by BSF. Accused Karanbir Singh managed to conceal the Heroin in a Tractor HOOK by his associates and Pakistani Smugglers, which wasfurther concealed into the agricultural land of Karanbir Singh falls ahead of BS Fence. Both these drug smugglers have disclosed the names of some other drug smugglers in the state, who are involved in smuggling of Heroin in cross-border from Pakistan.
