Amritsar, Apr. 7 (Punjab Post Bureau) – To create awareness among the students DAV Public School Lawrence Road organised a Health Awareness Lecture on the occasion of World Health Day. Dr. Tarsem Singh, Neonatologist and Pediatrician from Fortis Hospital Amritsar were the guest speaker. The students of STD –VII attended the lecture. The purpose of the lecture was to sensitize the students about the importance of healthy diet, hygienic measures to prevent infections and promote better health. Dr.Tarsem urged that good personal hygiene is the first step to good health. Habits such as washing hands, bathing, brushing is very important as they keep one free of bacteria, viruses and illnesses. He also talked about the common contagious and water borne discases and what preventive and remedial measures should be taken. He emphasised that Prevention is the best cure and wished Good Health for one and all. The whole session was very enriching, informative and interactive in which the students actively participated and clarified their doubts. Dr. Neera Sharma, Principal of the school, thanked the guest and motivated the students to take care of their health considering health to be the biggest wealth. Regional Director Punjab Zone – A Dr. (Mrs.) Neelam Kamra and the Manager of the school Dr. Rajesh Kumar in their message asked the students to maintain a healthy lifestyle for mental and physical fitness.
