Awareness seminar in collaboration with District Legal Services Authority

Amritsar, Apr. 16 (Punjab Post Bureau) – BBK DAV College for Women organised a seminar by District Legal Service Authority, in collaboration with Legal Literacy Club. The aim of the seminar was to make young women of the college aware about their rights and legal aids available for them. The lecture was delivered by the members of DLSA, who were Mr. SP Dhanjal, Advocate Bal Krishan, Mr. Ajaib Singh and Mr. Harjit Singh. The topics covered in the seminar were PNDT Act, protection of women from domestic violence, pension scheme and legal aids for senior citizen, MNREGA Scheme and Rights of Building Construction workers. The seminar was appreciated by the students and it was really beneficial for them.

Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia appreciated the efforts of Journalism Department for organising the seminar. On this occasion various faculty members Mrs. Manju Duggal, Vice Principal of the college, Mrs. Renu Bhandari, Dr. Anita Narendra, Dr. Priyanka Bassi and Mrs. Renu Vashisht were present.
