Amritsar, May 1(Punjab Post Bureau) – International Workers Day also known as Labour Day is a celebration of
labourers and the working classes that is promoted by international labour movement, socialists and communists. It is observed every year on May 1. Students of school observed a special programme to pay tribute to the labourers and working class. The students highlighted their importance in society as no nation can progress without the hard labour of its working class. Through well written articles and poems the students stressed the idea that no work is menial and the labour class should be respected for their contribution and must get their dues.
Regional Director Punjab Zone-A Dr. Neelam Kamra and Manager of the school Dr. Rajesh Kumar sent their best wishes to the students and asked them to be sensitive towards the hard work done by the labourers and respect them for their contribution in making their life comfortable.
Dr. Neera Sharma, Principal of the school , while addressing the students said that this day is a reminder that we regard the work done by the working class with repute not only for this day but always . Working men are the foundation of society so, they owe to be treated with dignity and respect .
