Amritsar, Aug. 12 ( Punjab Post Bureau)- NSS Unit of BBK college for Women, Lawrence Road, Amritsar conducted tree plantation in collaboration with inspire foundationin the college campus, informed vice Principal, Mrs. Manbir Kaushal. Mrs. Reena Jaitly, BJP state executive member from Amritsar who is alumni from college initiated the tree plantation drive. She motivated the volunteers to be always in the service of humanity. She further added that plantation and preservation of green belt is the duty of all. Aman Gupta, Patron – In – Chief, Gurpreet Singh, President and Narinder Pal Singh, Vice- President from inspire foundation told that their NGO is always on toes to work for greenery and cleanliness in the holy city. General Secretary Rasik Talwar further added that their foundation use to conduct tree plantation in various schools, colleges and colonies of Amritsar. Shaminder Singh, Karan Chawala, Nidhi Sharma from inspire foundation were also present on the occasion. Volunteers displayed placards on various themes like tree plantation, forestation, importance of plants, wild life and its relation to trees etc. Unit is planning for tree plantation in the month of October in the adopted village Qila Jeevan Singh informed programme officer Jaspreet Bedi. She told that unit has celebrated van mahotsva on July 8, this year. Programme officers Surbhi Sethi, Dr. Shaveta Kapoor & Mr. Rattanjit Singh were also present to encourage the volunteers.
