8th Annual Art and Craft Exhibition ‘Saviour’ held at DAV College

Amritsar, Nov. 2 (Punjab Post – Saggu) – PG Department of Computer Science and Information Technology of DAV College organized 8^th Annual Art and Craft exhibition ‘Saviour’ at Arsh Auditorium. The event was inaugurated by Sudershan Kapoor, Chairman Local Managing Committee and Principal Dr. Rajesh Kumar. This exhibition is an annual feature of Department of Computer Science and Information Technology in which students of Bachelor of Designing and Multimedia (BDMM) exhibit their creative work.

            In this exhibition the students displayed their handmade craft items made from wood, clay, thermocol, jute, and wax diyas, Aluminum and paper mashie.  The items that were displayed during this exhibition include paintings, key holders made from wood, sceneries, handmade candles, tables, key chains, besides, the photographs by the students. Principal Dr. Rajesh Kumar congratulated the department of Computer Science and IT for organizing such kind of events which involve students to showcase their talent and also help in their intellectual growth.

            Prof Vikram Sharma, HoD said that the students of BDMM worked hard to exhibit their artistic talent. Adding on he said that, they made innovative home utility items like Light shades, Hand bags and paintings with the usage of material like wood, clay, paper, jute, thermocol, wool etc. On this occasion, a short documentary film ‘    Paani’ was also screened by the students of BDMM based on theme Save Water, Save Environment. Simultaneously, the department also celebrated first edition of Youth India forum supported by INSIG 2018 and they also created various 3D Animations and Powerpoint presentations using various softwares.

             Dr. Darshandeep Arora Vice Principal Prof. BB Yadav, Prof. R.K Jha, Prof. G.S Sekhon, Prof. Kapil Goyal, Prof. Vivek Aggarwal and Prof. Ritu Arora and other faculty members were also present during the exhibition.
