Blood Donation Camp at Guru Nanak Dev University

Amritsar, Nov. 16 (Punjab Post Bureau) –  The NSS Unit I of the Law Department and NSS Unit II of Guru Nanak Dev University  in association with the Blood Bank of Guru Nanak Dev Hospital organised a blood donation camp on the university campus which was sponsored by HDFC Bank Amritsar. A blood donors’ directory was also prepared on the occasion. As many as 350 students registered themselves for blood donors directory and 170 units of blood were donated by students at the Camp.

Prof. S.S Behl, Dean Students’ Welfare of the University, graced the occasion by his presence at the camp. He interacted with all the donor students and encouraged them for similar endeavors in future too. Prof. Behl also acknowledged and appreciated the unstinted support of Prof. (Dr.) Jaspal Singh Sandhu, Vice Chancellor  in encouraging NSS activities on the campus by  providing all necessary administrative approvals for organizing the NSS led ‘Swachhta Pakhwada’ and Blood Donation Camps. Prof. Behl applauded the various NSS activities carried out throughout the year, specially, ‘Swachhta Pakhwada’ and Blood Donation Camps by volunteers under the guidance of NSS Coordinator Prof. HS Gujral, programme and field officers Dr. Rajesh Kumar, (Ms.) Harkirandeep Kaur and Ms. Jagjit Kaur. Dr. Neeraj Sharma, Head and Professor, Dr. Ravi Kumar Mahajan and Dr. Anil Mahajan of Guru Nanak Hospital, Amritsar along with their colleagues and Mr. Gagandeep Singh from HDFC, Bank got the blood donation exercise completed successfully.
