Amritsar, Dec. 6 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Member of Parliament Gurjeet Singh Aujla today written a letter to CM
Capt. Amarinder Singh requesting the approval of a proposal for commissioning of Metro Rail service from Amritsar to Dera Baba Nanak. In a Press release Aujla said that he has requested the Chief Minister to send a proposal to the union government for the construction and commissioning of metro rail service as the process of construction of Kartarpur Sahib corridor has already begun. He said that he has also requested the Chief Minister for Amritsar-SGRDJi Airport elevated road. Aujla said that Dera Baba Nanak shall very soon be transformed into an international destination and the present access is obsolete and public transport is totally incapable of handling the footfall of future. Aujla said that with the opening of Kartarpur Sahib corridor, SGRDJi Airport shall also be expecting increase in the passenger footfall so elevated access shall be the best option. He said that he has also advised the Deputy Commissioner Amritsar and Additional Chief Secretary Vini Mahajan to prepare the proposals for the said projects and submit to the Chief Minister’s office.
