Amritsar, Jan. 29 (Punjab Post Bureau) – President Shri Durgiana Committee Ramesh Chander Sharma emphasized the need to adopt all security measures by fisheries department while capturing Sarovar fish and releasing them in bias so that oxygen intake of fishes may not be interrupted and they may respirate in safe and secure zone.
A meeting was organized today by Sri Durgina committee with the Fisheries Department to extract fishes and other aquatic animals from sarovar and safely migrate them to bias pond. It was decided to break down the cement railing built on the fourth step of the sarovar so that process of capturing and releasing of the fish may be conducted smoothly. During the meeting with Deputy Director Fisheries Department Amritsar Raj Kumar and his team President Ramesh Sharma urged to ensure the life of sarovar aquatic animals to be in safe and secure zone, Sri Durgiana Tirath committee members will accompany the fisheries officials while releasing the fish in bias. President Ramesh Sharma and General Secy. Arun Khanna shared the information that many golden, colourful and ornamental fish are enhancing the beauty of temple sarovar. Sri Durgiana Committee is always in the efforts to clean and pure the sarovar water with water treatment and filtration system providing oxygen for fish and removing filth from the pool.
The meeting was attended by President Ramesh Sharma, Gen. Secy. Arun Khanna Finance Secy. Engineer Ramesh Sharma, Manager Raj Kumar Wadwa, Ram Gopal Malhotra, Vipin Chopra and other members.
It is pertinent to mention that Kar Sewa to clean Sarovar of Sri Durgiana Tirath has already been launched on 22nd January 2019 with installation of huge machines to draw holy water from sarovar and water level has fallen to the depth of 7 ft.
