DAV Public School Honored with CBSE Sports Promotion Award

PPN05091404Amritsar, Sept. 5 (Punjab Pot Bureau) – It is a matter of great pride that DAV Public School, Lawrence Road was among 160 schools from all over India to be felicitated with the CBSE Sports Promotion Award. The Principal of the school , Dr. Neera Sharma received a shield and a certificate  at a grand function held on the occasion of Teacher’s Day at Manekshaw centre, New Delhi yesterday.  Union HRD Minister Smt. Smriti Irani was the Chief Guest of the function. The Organizing Secretary of sports Mr. Vipan Thakur was also felicitated during the function. The school was honored for its volunteered efforts in hosting and organizing CBSE Sporting Competitions and promoting Sports and Games at the school level. On the occasion of the Teacher’s Day, the school held a special assembly in the morning and paid tribute  to the great visionary and educationist Saravpalli Radhakrishnan. They recited self composed poems and sang inspirational songs to show their gratitude to their teachers. Arya Ratan Sh. Punam Suri ji President DAV CMC, New Delhi sent his best wishes for the teachers . In his message  for the teachers he said, “ Teachers have always been front runners in all educational reforms. Our  teachers constitute our most precious human resource as we  look towards them to guide the children”. Regional Director Amritsar Zone Dr. (Mrs.) Neelam Kamra Principal BBK DAV College and Dr. K. N. Kaul, the Manager of the school sent their best wishes for the teachers and advised them to nurture the children with love and affection and be a part of the Nation’s progress. Dr. Neera Sharma Principal of the school congratulated the teachers on this day and said that the Nation that respects the teachers can progress and shine on the global map. She advised the teachers to treat each and every child individually and ignite their  minds  to spread light around. According to her a teacher should be a fecilitator and a guide who takes the students out from the shackles of ignorance.
