Chandigarh, Feb. 12 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Punjab Vigilance Bureau, today nabbed an Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) posted at NRI Police Station, Kapurthala red handed while accepting bribe of Rs. 10,000/-. Disclosing this here an official spokesperson of the Vigilance Bureau said ASI Manjinder Singh was nabbed red handed on the complaint of Rinku of village Khalwara Colony, Kapurthala district. The complainant has approached the VB and alleged that the accused ASI was demanding Rs.10000/- to submit challan of a case regarding his grandmother in the trial court. After verifying his information, the vigilance team laid a trap and the accused ASI was arrested on the spot while taking bribe of Rs.10,000 from the complainant in the presence of two official witnesses. He informed that a case under Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against the accused VB police station Jalandhar and further investigation was under progress.
