Amritsar, February 25 (Punjab Pot Bureau) – BJP Senior Leader Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina today hailed
the Centre’s Modi Government for strengthening and shaping the vibrant infrastructure in Punjab. He extended words of gratitude for the Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari who today laid foundation stones for road projects worth Rs 746 crore in Phagwara and Fatehgarh Sahib today.

In a statement issued here, Chhina informed that these projects taken up by the Centre include construction of 2.555 km long elevated structure and vehicular underpass on NH-44 at Phagwara city at a cost of Rs 165 crore and upgradation of 67.64 km long Banga-Garhshankar-Anandpur Saheb-Naina Devi road at a cost of Rs 581 crore.
He meanwhile hit out at current Congress in the state for showing scant regard to infrastructure development work and its lacklustre approach regarding civic planning in the city which is crying even for the basic amenities. He slammed the Captain Amarinder Singh government for stopping all development works and disconituing those strtade by the previous SAD-BJP government in the state.
“It is the Modi’s Central Government which is laying foundation for vibrant infrastructure in the State while the Congress Government is investing its funds for renovating ministerial bungalows and purchasing luxurious vehicles for its ministers”, slammed Chhina.
He urged Gadkari and the Centre for assistance in further expansion and up-gradation of national highways in the state, development of roads in border areas and improving connectivity as the Congress government always talks about empty treasuries whenever it was tasked with doing public good.
