Amritsar, May 8 (Punjab Post Bureau) – World Red Cross Day to marks the birth anniversary of Henry Dunant, the founder of the Red Cross and International Committee of the Red Cross was observed at DAV Public School Lawrence Road with zeal. The students of the school informed the audience about the significance and history of the day. Red Cross was founded as a major contribution to the peace just after World War I. The students talked about this year’s theme i.e ‘Love’. Through short poems the students gave the message of compassion for our fellow beings and pledged to spread brotherhood and harmony around.
Regional Officer Punjab Zone–A Dr. (Mrs.) Neelam Kamra and the Manager of the school Dr. Rajesh Kumar Principal DAV College Amritsar in their message said that on his day we need to offer medical services and help to the suffering people around us but this duty is on us for every day.
Dr. Neera Sharma Principal of the school while addressing the students asked the students to take inspiration from all those who had served the society in the times of need and encouraged them to be a part of the mission.
