National Dengue Day observed at DAV Public School

Amritsar, May 16 (Punjab Post Bureau) – On the occasion of National Dengue Day, a Poster Making Competition and a Quiz Competition was conducted at DAV Public School, Lawrence Road , Amritsar. These events were organised under the direction of Civil Surgeon, Amritsar Dr.Hardeep Singh Ghai.The competition was related to prevention of Dengue  with the aim to increase the knowledge of students about the same and spread awareness amon their regarding it.

Dr. Ramesh Pal Singh, Distt. Immunisation Officer  Dr. Madan Mohan Distt.Epidemiologist, Dr. Navdeep Kaur, Mrs. Raj Kaur MIO, Mr. Amardeep Singh , Deputy MIO, Ms. Santosh Kumari, Deputy MIO, Mr. Ram Mehta, Sanitary Inspector, Mr. Jagtar Singh Sanitary Inspector and Mr.Arush Bhalla BCC were among the team from Civil Surgeon’s Office who graced the occasion.

The Principal of the school Dr. Neera Sharma heartily welcomed them  and thanked them  for taking up such an important compaign with the students. She said that an aware society is always a better and progressive society.

Dr. Madan Mohan  on this occasion addressed the students and said that prevention was  the answer to every disease. He advised students to keep their surroundings clean and wear full sleeves clothes while going out. He asked the students not to treat any kind of sickness on their own and always take medical advise.

As many as 50 students of the school took part in these competitions and performed their best. In Poster Making Competition are Nandini Jain  was first, Pragti Sharma second,        Uday Thakur   third and        Kashish Handa got Appreciation award. In Quiz Competition Tanishdeep  was  first, Sarthak Mahajan second , Jatin Mehta  third and Appreciation award was given to Mridul.
