Amritsar, Sept. 15 (Dharminder Rataul)- As many as 357 students from various departments and regional campuses of Guru Nanak Dev University have been placed with internationally renowned three Indian multinational IT companies; Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Capgemini and Nagarro. These students have been recruited as Software Engineer Trainee. A strong team of 70 members of TCS visited GNDU University campus for recruitment from 3rd to 6th September and conducted online test for 950 students. After online aptitude test, technical and HR interviews, TCS offered jobs to 255 students. The selected students have been offered an annual salary package of Rs. 3.18 Lakhs per annum. Senior Company Officials of Capgemini, a Hyderabad based software company visited Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar on 13th and 14th September and conducted very hectic round of On-line Aptitude test, GD and interview for 675 students of IT Courses. They selected 94 students at a salary package of Rs. 3.05 Lacs per annum.
Earlier senior members team from Nagarro, Gurgaon also visited GNDU and conducted written test for 1000 students on 27th August. Final interviews were conducted at Gurgaon on 12th September and the company has selected 8 students at a salary package of Rs. 4 Lakhs per annum. The student volunteers of 2nd and 3rd year of different departments alongwith Placement staff worked very hard day and night in successfully conducting the placement drives of these 3 companies. The selected students are from Batch 2015 of B.Tech. – Computer Science, B.Tech. – Electronics, MCA and M.Tech. from main campus Amritsar as well as the regional campuses of Jalandhar, Gurdaspur, Sathiala, Sultanpur Lodhi and constituent colleges of GNDU. These students shall join their jobs in July 2015 after their final exam. The demand for the GND University students by the corporate world itself speaks of the quality infrastructure and facilities available at the university. Many companies like Infogain, Amdocs, Tech Mahindra, IBM are likely to visit the campus in near future.
