Education Minister Soni honours the Board Toppers at SGHPS

Amritsar, June 1 (Punjab Post Bureau) – SGHPS celebrated its Prize distribution function to felicitate the meritorious students of board examination 2018-19 of class XII with great fervor and vivacity. Sh. O.P. Soni Education Minister Punjab graced the occasion as the Chief guest. Nirmal Singh President CKDCS presided over the function. Bhag Singh Ankhi Chairman Schools and Principal Dr. Dharam Veer Singh extended a floral welcome to the guests followed by welcome song by the girls of XI & XII

The highest percentage scorer  Harkirat Singh (97.6 % Non-Medical) bagged position as City Topper, PrabhleenKaur (95.4% Medical Stream), Simran Kaur Sandhu (96% Commerce) and Simran Kathuria (95.2 %  Humanities ) were awarded medals , mementos and certificates for their outstanding academic achievements. Out of 365 number of students who appeared in CBSE XII Board Exams, 12 students scored above 95%, 54 students scored above 90% and 56 students scored 85% and above. All top scorers were awarded appreciation certificates and mementos. The cultural programme performed by the budding artist’s added charm to the auspicious day. The mesmerizing Sufi dance kept the audience spell bound. Bhangra , the flavour of Punjab by the boys of Class XI and XII was a thrilling visual treat for all. Nirmal Singh, President CKDCS and Bhag singh Ankhi Chairman Schools motivated the students to be disciplined, diligent & punctual as they were stepping forward to pursue their career. The Chief Guest was supportive in his appreciation of students, teachers, Principal and Management. He motivated all to keep working hard with sincere endeavours.

The  vote of thanks was proposed by member Incharge school Prof. Hari Singh.  The day culminated with recitation of National Anthem.
