Amritsar, June 4 (Punjab Post Bureau) – With a view to provide basic training to young sports freaks, a free summer
camp for the football enthusiasts today kicked off at Khalsa College Senior Secondary School. The 10-day long camp is having the young sports boys from various schools who will be taught the fundamental tips of the game by expert coaches.
The camp was inaugurated by Khalsa College Governing Council honourary secretary Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina who said the right way is to tap the potentials of the sports persons at the young age and then provide specific training and coaching to nurture them as national and international level players.
“This is the right age to start. Aim high and serve the nation at national and international event in future”, said Chhina adding that the camp was an annual feature at the school during the summer vacations as he thanked Khalsa Footbal Club to have organized the camp in the memory of legendry football player from Punjab Joginder Singh Maan.
Principal Dr. Inderjit Singh Gagoani said that over 60 football players from diverse age around would be getting the specialised training and they would also be given free refreshments and tips on the future of football game in the country. Khalsa Footbal Club President Manwinder Singh Attari said their motive is to make the game of football popular and motivate the young players to adopt the game.
Coaches including Pardeep Kumar, Daljit Singh, Bhupinder Singh, Rankirat Singh, Ravinder Singh, Satnam Singh Lali, Swaran Singh, Amritpal Singh, Manwinder Singh Happy were present.
