Chandigarh, September 3 (Punjab Post Bureau) – The Punjab Government has invited the applications for the State
Award to the institutions working for welfare of the ‘Divyang’ persons, besides from the employees, ‘Divyang’ Individuals and Sportspersons.
A spokesperson of the Department of Social Security, Women and Child Development, said that the eligible applicants can obtain the prescribed proforma from the office of District Social Security Officer till September 30, 2019 and deposit it before the due date. The applications received at the district level will be selected on the basis of the recommendations made by the committee headed by the Deputy Commissioner and on these recommendations the State Level Committee will select the Awardees.
These awards will be given on ‘World Disabled Day’ going to be celebrated on 3rd December 2019.
According to the spokesman, award for the best employee / self employed with disabilities will be given in six sub categories i.e. blindness, low vision, leprosy cured, hearing impairment, locomotors disability and multiple disabilities. In these categories, a cash award of Rs 10,000 along with a citation and a certificate would be awarded. Two awards will be given in the best employers sub category, one for Government organization, Public Sector Undertaking or Autonomous or Local Body and another for Private or Non Governmental organization. The cash award of Rs 10,000, a citation and a certificate would be given in this category.
Likewise in the category of best individual and best institution working for the cause of persons with disability, 2 awards (one each for Professional and Non-Professional) will be given with cash award of 10,000, a citation and a certificate while 2 awards would be given in the best institution / NGO category (One each for an organization providing holistic comprehensive services to the persons with disabilities in a comprehensive manner and to an organization promoting inclusive education to the children/persons with disabilities)will be given cash award of 25,000, a citation and a certificate.
The Spokesman further said that two awards for best sports person with disability (One each for male and female) would be given in any of 6 sub category of disability). They will be honored with a cash award of 10,000, a citation and a certificate. Application received after last date will not be entertained.
