Dev University celebrated World Tourism here today. On this occasion, Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Jaspal Singh Sandhu was the Chief guest. He said that Sustainable Tourism and guide students to focus on practical learning. He also emphasized on the employment opportunities in the Tourism and Hospitality industry which is also associated to the World Tourism Day theme this year “Tourism and Jobs: A better future for all”.
A tourism walk was also organised in the GNDU campus followed by a visit to Khalsa Heritage Museum and Bhai Gurdas Library. A guest lecture on “Scope of tourism and career opportunities” was delivered by Mrs. Harpreet Kaur, Coordinator, Punjab Tourism. Professor Abhishek Aggarwal from Hindu College discussed the increasing importance of medical tourism in India. The day was commemorated so as to show the relevance of the Tourism Industry. Professor Incharge Dr. Mandeep Kaur welcomed as well as thanked chief guest and other dignitaries for making this day memorable.
