Sultanpur Lodhi, Oct 18 (Punjab Post Bureau) – One of the main desire of the pilgrims arriving at Sultanpur Lodhi
during the 550th Parkash Purb of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, will be to take a dip (Ishnan) in the Holy Kali Bein, which is connected with many historic life events of Baba Nanak and to fulfill that Punjab Government has decided to release 500 Quesec freshwater into Kali Bein from October 23 to facilitate the holy ishnan at Sultanpur Lodhi.
Revealing this here today, Tourism and Cultural Affairs Minister Mr. Charanjit Singh Channi, who was in the city to review the preparations and arrangements for the 550th Parkash Purb celebrations, has stated “Keeping in view the importance of the holy bein in the Sikh religion, Government of Punjab has decided to facilitate the pilgrims for holy dip in this historic Bein, where Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji used to have Ishnaan.” He also added that it is a once in a lifetime opportunity for the devotees during the 550th Prakash Purb celebrations.
Mr. Channi informed that the work for pitchinh stone on the banks of the Holy Bein would be completed before October 22.
He further added that 500 quesec of freshwater would be released from the Mukerian Hydel from October 23, which would provide fresh lifeline to the ecology in the Holy Bein besides facilitating devotees in large.
