Vigilance nabs AFSO for taking bribe

Chandigarh , Oct 21 (Punjab Post Bureau) – State Vigilance Bureau, today nabbed an Assistant Food Vigilance Bureau Bribe& Supplies Officer (AFSO) posted at Jhuneer in Mansa district red handed for accepting bribe of Rs. 5,000.

            Disclosing this here today a spokesman of Vigilance Bureau Punjab said AFSO Sukhdev Singh was caught red handed on the complaint of Hardeep Singh of Beereywala Jattan in Mansa district.

            Giving details, he said the complainant has approached the VB and alleged that the above named AFSO was demanding bribe of Rs. 5,000 to help him in an inquiry against his ration depot. After verifying his complaint a team from VB Bathinda range laid a trap and the accused was caught red handed and tainted money was recovered from him in the presence of two official witnesses.

            He informed that a case under Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against both the accused at VB police station Bathinda and further investigation was under progress.
