Sultanpur Lodhi , Oct 24 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Punjab State Power Corporation Limited has completed the
gangaetic process to install electricity connections at all 5w langar sites , which was allocated by the district administration to organize langar during the 550th Gurpurab celebrations at sultanpur lodhi.
The Punjab Government has established the first of its kind underground 66 KV substation at Arya samaj chowk in the holy city for uninterrupted electricity supply during the 550th Gurpurab celebrations, which would provide the electricity to major langars. Besides that PSPCL has ensured three ties electricity supply system from 220KV sub stations at lai wala Jhal village to avoid any interruption in electricity supply.
Deputy Commissioner DPS Kharbanda today said that ” the biggest challenge was to create the basis infrastructure of electricity as the holy city has not witnessed such kind of religious occasions where more than 50 lakh pilgrims to visit the holy city “.
He said that the 600 KW electricity connections was realeased at the langar sites in front of main pandal in PUDA colony where 6 new transformers were Installed. Besides that to facilitate the other langars , two connections of 300 KW each were established at Lohian chungi and at village Randhirpur . Another 250 KW electricity connection was also set up at the langar site on Talwandi chaudriyan road.
Deputy Commissioner further said that more than 45 electrricity connections, which falls between 10 to 40 KW were also issued to facilitate the devotees at langar sites.
