State level cycle rally flagged off for Dera Baba Nanak by Rana Sodhi

Spreading peace & harmony main aim of event – O.P Soni

 Amritsar, Nov 3 (Punjab Post Bureau) – The 550 cyclists participated in a rally today from the PUNJ0311201926Golden Gate to Dera Baba Nanak. The event dedicated to the 550th Prakash Purb celebrations of Sahib Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji was organized with the assistance of the Sports Department, Punjab. The rally was flagged off by the Sports and Youth Services Minister Rana Gurmit Singh Sodhi. Cyclists from all over Punjab participated in the rally.

The minister further said that the rally would cover the distance of 65 KM and reach Dera Baba Nanak passing through Majitha Byepass, Fatehgarh Churian and concluding Dera Baba Nanak. The cyclists would be honoured with the medallions as well as the certificates. The minister further said that Guru Nanak Dev Ji gave the message of ‘Kirat Karo, Naam Japo, Wand Chhako’ and we all are indeed fortunate to have got the chance to celebrate  550th Prakash Purb of Guru Sahib. The minister further said that with the opening of Sri Kartarpur Sahib Corridor, the long wait of the sangat to visit the holy place would be over.

Rana Sodhi also said that the celebration of such pious occasions connects the modern day youth with their age old culture and heritage. He also said that the State Government would spare no effort to turn these celebrations into memorable ones and also that all parties must come together on a common platform to celebrate such occasions.

In his address, the Medical Education and Research Minister  Om Prakash Soni said that this rally carries the golden message of peace and harmony and it is for the first time in the history of Punjab that such an event has been organized. He also elaborated that the State Government has made all the necessary arrangements regarding the celebrations including wheelchairs for the Divyang people. He also exhorted one and all to follow the path illuminated by Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
