DAV Public School Celebrates UNICEF DAY

Amritsar, Dec 13 (Punjab Post Bureau)  – DAV Public School, Lawrence  Road , , celebrated the UNICEF DAY to show its commitment towards the development and assistance to children who are deprived of the basic amenities and education.UNICEF was created  by the United Nations general Assembly on December 11, 1946 to provide emergency food and healthcare to children.

Realising the importance of healthy and educated future generation, the students of the school stressed on the importance to fight malnutrition, child abuse, child labour and illiteracy among children for better future. They sang songs and recited poem on the same theme. The students also pledged to spread awareness among the masses to send children to school and maintain hygienic surroundings for their well being.

Regional Officer Punjab Zone–A Dr. Neelam Kamra  and the Manager of the school Dr. Rajesh Kumar said that it is the duty of every citizen to provide healthy environment to children for their all round development.

Dr. Neera Sharma, Principal of the school while addressing the students said that education can bring much awareness about children’s rights, thus our main emphasis should be on educating them.
