Amritsar, Dec 22 (Punjab Post Bureau) – As per the directive of Punjab & Chandigarh College Teachers’ Union against the dictatorial and adamant attitude of DAV colleges Managing Committee Dharna Cum Rally by the local unit of DAV College entered in to second day. Addressing the teachers Dr. Munish Gupta Unit Secretary of DAV College Amritsar briefed regarding difficulties faced by teachers in DAV Colleges, Punjab. He said that in spite of the fact that teachers have submitted their promotion cases as per the rules and regulations to the management, they are not getting their Career Advancement Scheme for the last three years. Dr. G.S Sekhon Unit President said that even after continuous requests and ample time to the management to solve the problem,no positive sign has been received from them and every time the management step backed from his promise and forced us to take the path of agitation for which the whole responsibility lies on the part of management. Addressing the rally, District President Dr. BB Yadav told that other DAV Colleges in Amritsar viz. BBK DAV College and DAV College of Education Amritsar hold Dharna in their respective colleges. Further, he warned the managementto fulfill the genuine demands of teachers otherwise all the DAV Colleges in Punjab and Chandigarh will follow the directive of PCCTU and Dharna at their respective colleges in Punjab will continue till the achievement of the goal. Addressing the rally Dr. Malkiat Singh vice president of the unit told that one of our staff member is going to retire on 31st December 2019 but his case of CAS is still pending with effect from July 2017. It would be a first case of its kind in the history of DAV College Managing Committeethat a teacher is retiring without his due promotion.
All the staff members participated in the dharna including Dr. Malkiat Singh, Prof. Rajesh Mittu, Prof. Sanjeev Dutta, Dr. Darshan Deep, Prof. Gurjeet Singh Sidhu, Dr. Madam Daizy, Dr. Madam Ranjni Khanna, Dr. Madam Parveen Kumari, Dr. Neeraj Gupta, Dr. Rajni Bala, Prof. Madan Mohan, Prof. Rajnesh Popi and other staff members.
