72nd Army Day : Military Band Display at Partition Museum Amritsar

Amritsar. Jan 16 (Punjab Post Bueau) – Amritsar city witnessed a one of its kind spectacular musical event – the PPNJ1601202018Military Band Display at the Partition Museum. The military bands from two of Indian Army’s most glorious Infantry regiments enthralled the audience with 75 minutes of a breathtaking mix of military music and folk songs. This musical extravaganza was organized on behalf of the Panther Division.

           PPNJ1601202019 The military band display was an apt event to celebrate 72nd Army Day. Indian Army celebrates 15 Jan 2020 as Army Day in recognition of Field Marshal General KM Cariappa taking over as the first Commander in Chief of Indian Army from General Sir Francis Butcher, the last British Commander-in-Chief of India.

            The bands played patriotic songs like “Kandho Se Milte Hai Kandhe”, “Jai Ho”, “Kadam Kadam Badhaye Ja” and scores of other patriotic songs.  The event was witnessed by the gathering of civilians who gave a standing ovation at the end of the magnificent performance.

            The event was open to all civilians desirous of witnessing the grand performance. The event culminated with the Bands playing the tune of “Saare Jahaan Se Accha”. The bands were later felicitated by the Chief Guest General Officer Commanding Major General Vikram Singh & Mr. Shiv Dhullar Singh Deputy Commissioner Amritsar at the event.
