Amritsar. January 31 (Punjab Post Bureau) – STF Punjab has unearthed major Heroin supply racked in STF case no 20 dt 29.01.2020 under section 21/61/85 NDPS Act and 25/54/59 Arms Act., Police station Special Task Force, Phase IV SAS Nagar. STF Punjab Chief Harpreet Singh in a press conference said that One Sukhbir Singh @ Happy s/o Late Lakhbir Singh resident of Ajnala Road Amritsar in his Breeza Car colour grey PB02 on specific input from whom 6 kgs of heroin kept in 6 packets were recovered. The accused was arrested by a party led by Inspector Randhir Singh in presence of Sikander Singh DSP STF Border Range. On the disclosure of accused Sukhbir Singh the kingpin of the racket Ankush Kapoor who is also running a cloth store at Queens Road was arrested.
Meanwhile on further specific input STF registered FIR No 23 dated 30.01.2020 under section 21/25/27-A/29/61/85 NDPS Act at Police Station Special Task Force SAS Nagar that a house in Sultanwind area is being used to store and process heroin, the same was identified and later searched in presence of Executive Magistrate.
The search of the place led to recovery of 188.455 kgs heroin, suspected Dextromethorphan powder 38.220 kgs, suspected Caffeine powder 25.865 Kgs and an illicit laboratory along with 6 drums of chemicals, four persons including an Afghan National Arman Basharmal son Mohammed Dildar resident of Achin Nangarhar Afghanistan were arrested.
The Afghan national had travelled to India recently and was brought directly to Amritsar from Delhi for refining and mixing heroin that was available with the accused and was staying at the rented house at Akash Avenue in VII Sultanwind. The accused had purchased mixer grinders for refining the heroin. He also had expertise to mix the Dextromethorphan and Caffeine and other ingredients. A gas burner, commercial cylinders and large utensils of steel and Aluminium were also found at the place. Total of 194 kgs of heroin has been recovered.
The further supply routes are under investigation and the source of supply is being identified. International links of supply and finance to other countries are being probed further. Four other accused arrested are:-
- Sukhwinder Singh son of Gurnam Singh resident Naushehra Khurd and trainer at Talwarkar’s Gym Mall Road Amritsar.
- Major Singh son of Kulwant Singh resident of Naushehra Khurd.
4.Tamanna Gupta Daughter of Rakesh Kumar resident of near Anam Cinema Amritsar.
It has been learnt that Simranjit Singh Sandhu son of Sarbjit Singh resident of Ranjit Avenue Amritsar was involved in supply of this Heroin alongwith Ankush Kapur which will be investigated further. Simranjit Singh is presently proclaimed offender in a case of ATS Gujarat State of 300 Kg of Heroin and is now wanted in Case FIR No. 23 dated 30.01.2020 of STF Mohali. Police Commissioner Amritsar Dr. Sukhchain Singh Gill and Other police Officers were also present in press conference.
